The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the much-awaited SSC CGL Recruitment 2025 Notification for filling approx. 14582 Group B and Group C posts in various Ministries, Departments, and Organizations of the Government of India. The SSC CGL 2025 Notification is OUT on 9th June 2025, and the last date to apply is 4th July 2025. The SSC CGL Tier 1 exam will be conducted from 13th August to 30th August 2025.

SSC CGL 2025 Vacancies
In 2024, SSC announced nearly 17,727 tentative vacancies across various departments. A similar number of vacancies are expected for the SSC CGL 2025 cycle as well. However, the exact number of vacancies for each post and category (General, OBC, SC, ST, EWS, etc.) will be released in the official notification. It is also important to note that the Commission does not release state-wise or zone-wise vacancies, as postings are done centrally.

SSC CGL Recruitment 2025 Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification (As on 1st August 2025)
- For most posts: Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
- For Junior Statistical Officer (JSO): Bachelor’s Degree with at least 60% marks in Mathematics at 12th level or Degree with Statistics as one of the subjects.
- For Statistical Investigator Grade II: Bachelor’s Degree with Statistics as one of the subjects.

SSC CGL 2025 Selection Process
The SSC CGL 2025 selection process includes two tiers of computer-based tests followed by document verification and skill/physical tests (if applicable for certain posts).
Tier 1 – Preliminary Test (Objective Type)
This is a qualifying test. The marks are normalized if held in multiple shifts.

- Paper II (Only for JSO applicants): Statistics.
- Paper III (For SI/Statistical Investigator): Additional subject-specific test.
Paper I is conducted in two sessions on the same day, and qualifying each module is mandatory. Marks of Paper I will be considered for final merit.
Skill and Physical Standards
For some posts like CBI Sub-Inspector, NIA, Preventive Officer, or Excise Inspector, candidates must meet specific physical and medical standards. Physical tests include height, chest (for males), weight (for females), and walking/running tasks. Detailed standards will be mentioned in the official notification.

SSC CGL 2025 Application Process
Candidates will have to apply online through the new SSC website – ssc.gov.in. A One-Time Registration (OTR) is required, which can be used for all future exams.

- Fill in personal and educational details.
- Capture a live photograph using your webcam (new feature).
- Upload your signature as per the given format.
- Pay the application fee online.
- Submit and take a printout of the application.

Correction Window
SSC allows candidates to correct any mistakes in their applications within a 2-day window after the last date. The correction fee is ₹200 for the first correction and ₹500 for the second.
