Last year, the Higher Secondary exams in West Bengal began using the semester system for the first time. Many students complained about difficulties such as filling answers on OMR sheets and not being able to finish all questions within the given time. The Higher Secondary Education Council admitted these issues.

The third semester exam ended on 22 September. The fourth semester will be held from 12 February to 27 February. Before these exams, the Council has announced in advance how the marks will be divided in the question papers so that students can prepare accordingly.
