Eligibility Criteria 2025
Educational Qualification
Candidates must possess either:
- Master’s Degree in Biomedical/Chemical/Biotech/Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics/Instrumentation/Polymer/Computer Science/Medical Electronics Engineering, or Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Medicine with Clinical Pharmacology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or Life Sciences
OR - Bachelor’s Degree in any of the above disciplines
Experience
- Master’s Degree Holders: 4 years experience in manufacturing/testing/regulation/designing of medical devices
- Bachelor’s Degree Holders: 6 years experience in the same field
Note: Relaxations in qualifications and experience are available for SC/ST candidates as per UPSC rules.

UPSC 09/2025 Selection Process
The selection will be made based on shortlisting followed by an interview. In case of a high number of applicants, a Recruitment Test (RT) may be conducted. Final merit will be determined on the basis of the interview (or combined test + interview, if held).
Interview Minimum Qualifying Marks:
- UR/EWS: 50
- OBC: 45
- SC/ST/PwBD: 40
