JNVST 2026: Last Chance for Class 9 & 11 Admission! Deadline Extended to October 23, Apply at navodaya.gov.in

The Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) has given students a short extra time to apply for the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST) 2026. The last date to register for JNVST 2026 Class 9, 11 Admission has now been extended to October 23, 2025. Students can submit the form through the official website: cbseitems.nic.in.

Earlier, the last date was October 21. Now, students have two more days to finish the process. After that, a correction window will open from October 24 to 26, 2025, where candidates can fix errors in gender, area, category, exam medium, or disability status.

The JNVST 2026 Entrance Test is scheduled for February 7, 2026 (Saturday). The test gives students admission to Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas free, fully residential CBSE-affiliated schools for bright children across India.

JNVST 2026 Class 9 & 11 Admission – Eligibility Criteria

For Class 9:

  • Must be a bona fide resident of the district where the JNV is located and where admission is sought.
  • Must be studying in Class 8 during the 2025-26 academic session in a Govt./Govt. A recognized school of the same district.
  • Age must be between May 1, 2011, and July 31, 2013 (both days inclusive).
  • Must have studied in a rural school for at least one full academic year. (Note: The rural/urban status is determined by the school where the candidate is studying Class 8 in 2025-26).

For Class 11:

  • Must have passed Class 10 from a recognized board in the academic session 2025-26.
  • The candidate’s date of birth must be between June 1, 2009, and July 31, 2011 (both days inclusive).
  • Must be a bona fide resident of the district where the JNV is located and where admission is sought.
  • Admission depends on the availability of seats and Class 10 performance/merit (Lateral Entry is generally based on Class 10 marks/grade in the concerned stream subjects).
