JKBOSE 15% Syllabus Relaxation 2025: A Big Relief for Students of Jammu, Kashmir & Ladakh.
Jammu & Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has shared some good news with students who are going to take the upcoming Class 10, 11, and 12 Annual Regular Exams 2025 (October–November session).
The board has this year decided to give a 15% relaxation in the syllabus because of study problems in schools of the Kashmir Division, the Winter Zone areas of Jammu, and the UT of Ladakh.
What Does the JKBOSE 15% Syllabus Relaxation 2025 Mean for Students?
Under the new rule, students have to answer questions for 85 marks, and that will be counted as 100 during checking.
The question paper will still come from the full syllabus. The good part is that most papers will have internal choices, allowing students to skip some parts and still reach their 85-mark goal.
Simply put, you’ll get a full syllabus question paper, but you won’t have to answer everything, just enough to make 85 marks count as 100.
MCQs and Grammar Sections Made Easier
This rule also covers MCQs and grammar parts in the language papers. Every MCQ answered will be checked separately, so you’ll have a bit more freedom while choosing which questions to answer.

This syllabus relaxation is for all students taking the 2025 Annual Exams in:
• Kashmir Province
• Winter Zone areas of Jammu Division
• Union Territory of Ladakh
JKBOSE has sent this notice to all schools and principals so that students clearly understand the new pattern before the exams start.

Why JKBOSE Announced the 15% Syllabus Relaxation 2025?
The board made this decision after many breaks in regular classes caused by bad weather, floods, and other delays.
With this 15% relaxation, the board wants to reduce exam stress and give all students a fair chance even with less study time.
Board officials said the move will help students keep learning smoothly while keeping the marking system fair.

Although relaxation has been given, students still need to study the full syllabus because question papers will have all chapters. This relaxation only gives you the choice of questions in the exam, it doesn’t reduce how much you need to study.
