The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandi has officially released the IIT Mandi PRAYAS 3.0 Notification 2025 for students to participate in a transformative 1-month offline residential course focused on Robotics, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and the Internet of Things (IoT).

What is PRAYAS 3.0?
PRAYAS stands for Promoting and Accelerating Young and Aspiring Students, and is a visionary initiative launched by IIT Mandi in 2022. With each edition, PRAYAS has grown more impactful, and the 3rd edition (PRAYAS 3.0) focuses on integrating Robotics, AI, and IoT in a practical and accessible way for learners.
Program Duration and Mode
- Start Date: 16th June 2025
- Duration: 1 Month
- Mode: Offline, Fully Residential at IIT Mandi Campus
- Daily Learning Hours: 5–6 Hours of intensive academic and practical sessions
- Accommodation & Meals: Provided at IIT Mandi hostel and mess
IIT Mandi PRAYAS 3.0 Curriculum
Week 1: Basics of Robotics, AI & IoT
- Introduction to core concepts and system components (sensors, actuators, controllers)
- IoT architecture and communication protocols (MQTT, HTTP, CoAP)
- Hands-on: Python basics, Arduino/Raspberry Pi setup, IoT LED control dashboard
Week 2: AI and Machine Learning Applications in Robotics
- Computer vision, neural networks, reinforcement learning, and edge AI
- Hands-on: Object detection using OpenCV, ML model for gesture recognition, TensorFlow Lite on Raspberry Pi
Week 3: IoT and Cloud Integration for Robotics
- Topics like MQTT/WebSockets, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), security in AIoT
- Hands-on: IoT dashboard for robotic arm control, secure communication setup
Week 4: Advanced Robotics and Future Trends
- Focus on swarm robotics, SLAM, NLP, digital twins, and Industry 4.0
- Capstone Project: Build an AI-powered IoT-enabled robot
