Candidates qualifying the Tier-I exam of IB MTS are called for the Tier-II exam. Final selection of candidates is done based on performance in Tier-I and Tier-II combined. IB MTS Selection Process 2025

The IB MTS Selection Process will be done over two phases – Tier-I and Tier-II. The IB MTS Exam Selection process includes the following steps:

Tier-I Exam: The first phase of the IB MTS selection process is an online computer-based test. It includes five sections for a total of 100 marks. The total time duration given is 1 hour. The exam will be objective type with multiple choice questions.

Tier-II Exam: The second stage is a descriptive offline exam. It will include a translation passage from the local language to English and vice versa for 40 marks. The time duration given will be 1 hour. Tier-II is qualifying in nature and the qualifying mark is 16 out of 40.

Candidates need to appear for the first stage of the IB MTS Selection Process i.e., the Tier-I exam. It consists of objective-type questions and is conducted online. Candidates must score well to get shortlisted for the Tier-II stage.

The paper carries 100 marks and includes five sections: General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, Numerical/Analytical/Logical Ability & Reasoning, English Language, and General Studies. There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer.

IB MTS Selection Process: Tier-II Examination

The IB MTS Selection Process–Tier-II exam will consist of an offline descriptive paper. The exam includes a translation of a 500-word passage from the local language/dialect to English and vice versa. This section is qualifying in nature and will carry a total of 40 marks. The time allotted for the Tier-II paper is 1 hour.

Final Selection Process of IB MTS

After all the phases are successfully conducted, IB will release a ffinall merit list. The merit list shall be released state and category-wise. IB will do the posting for the candidates according to the SIB (Subsidiary Intelligence Bureau) preference the candidates have given in the application form. Once the joining selection process of IB MTS is completed, the candidates cannot request a change in posting.
