Candidates must meet the eligibility criteria for their chosen program. The eligibility varies by program as mentioned below.
- Ph.D. (Sciences): Master’s degree in Science with minimum 55% marks (General/EWS) and 50% (OBC/SC/ST/PwD) OR 4-year/8-semester Bachelor’s degree with 75% marks (General/EWS) and 70% (OBC/SC/ST/PwD). Valid National-level Fellowship (CSIR, UGC, ICMR, DBT, etc.) or Institutional Fellowship required. Staff and Industry-sponsored candidates with NOC also eligible.
- Ph.D. (Medical Research): Doctor of Medicine (D.M.), M.Ch., M.D., M.S., MBBS, BDS, MDS, or Master’s degree in related fields with minimum marks as above. National-level Fellowship, Institutional Staff, or Industry-sponsored candidates eligible. (Tenable only at ICMR Institutes, MAX, and TIGS).
- Ph.D. (Engineering): Master’s degree in Engineering/Technology (or integrated B.Tech/M.Tech) with minimum 55% marks or B.E./B.Tech with 75% marks (General/EWS) and 70% (OBC/SC/ST/PwD). Self-sponsored, Institutional Fellowship, Staff, and Industry-sponsored candidates eligible.
