Candidates can now apply for MA and M.Sc. courses across various disciplines under the Faculty of Arts, Commerce, Law, and Science. The Burdwan University PG Admission application forms are available on the official website www.buruniv.ac.in from 26th August 2025 to 9th September 2025.
Applicants are required to register with the Academic Bank of Credit (ABC/APAAR ID) before filling out the online application form.

Burdwan University PG Admission Eligibility Criteria
- For MA/M.Sc./M.Com.: Minimum 50% marks in Honours (relevant subject) for General category; 45% for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/DA/SP candidates.
- For M.Ed.: Minimum 50% marks in B.Ed./B.Sc.-B.Ed./B.A.-B.Ed./B.El.Ed. or Graduation with D.El.Ed. (with 50%).
- For LL.M.: 3-year or 5-year LL.B. with at least 50% marks.
- For Music Courses (MA in Rabindra Sangeet / Hindusthani Classical Vocal Music): Honours degree in Music with 50%.
- For MBA Programs: Honours graduates in any discipline with 50% marks + Virtual Interaction Round (12th–13th Sept 2025). Candidates with valid CAT/XAT/CMAT/MAT/GMAT/JEMAT scores must upload their scorecards.
Burdwan University PG Admission Seat Distribution
- 80% seats are reserved for candidates from Burdwan University.
- 20% seats are reserved for students from other universities.
- 100% seat-based admission is applicable for multidisciplinary subjects like Library Science, Mass Communication, Women’s Studies, Social Work, and MBA Programs.
Burdwan University PG Admission Selection Procedure
Selection is based on Grade Point Calculation (GP):
- 20% from Madhyamik (10th) best 5 subjects.
- 20% from Higher Secondary (12th) best 4 subjects.
- 60% from Honours (Major subject) marks at Graduation.
For MBA: GP includes 10% from national-level exam scores + 20% from Virtual Interaction Round (VIR).
In case of tie, higher marks in Honours subject, then HS, then Madhyamik will determine merit position.

- Phase-1 Counselling begins 20th September 2025.
