Nationality

To apply for RBI Grade B 2025, a candidate must be:

  1. A citizen of India, OR
  2. A subject of Nepal or Bhutan, OR
  3. A Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanent settlement, OR
  4. A Person of Indian Origin (PIO) who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, or East African countries (Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia) with the intention of permanent settlement.

(A) RBI Grade B (General)

  • Post-graduation in any discipline with minimum 55% marks (pass marks for SC/ST/PwBD).

Graduation should be of minimum 3 years duration after Class XII, and Post-Graduation of at least 2 years duration.

(B) RBI Grade B (DEPR)

  • Master’s Degree in Economics / Finance (or where these are the principal subjects) with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwBD).
  • Desirable: Doctorate in Economics, teaching/research experience, or publication in standard journals.

(C) RBI Grade B (DSIM)

  • Master’s in Statistics / Mathematical Statistics / Econometrics / Data Science / AI / ML / Big Data with 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwBD), OR
  • Master’s in Mathematics with a 1-year PG Diploma in Statistics, OR
  • Four-year Bachelor’s in Data Science/AI/ML/Big Data (60% marks), OR
  • PG Diploma in Business Analytics with 55% marks.

Candidates with M.Phil./Ph.D. in relevant subjects get additional age relaxation

Number of Attempts for RBI Grade B

The RBI restricts the maximum number of attempts for General/EWS category aspirants:

  • General/EWS: Maximum 6 attempts for Phase-I.
  • SC/ST/OBC/PwBD: No restriction on attempts, as long as age eligibility is satisfied.

This means reserved category candidates can apply as many times as they want until the maximum age limit.
