Combination of Subjects Offered

While filling in the Application Form …

candidates opting for Honours level of study in Bachelor of Arts/Science are required to mention one Honours Subject, either Bengali or Hindi as Indian Language, and two Elective Subjects from the combinations listed below.

 Candidates opting for the General level of study in Arts and Science …

are required to select three Elective subjects and an Indian Language as from the Table given below. 

The Commerce candidates will have no choice barring Indian Language. 

English and Environment Studies are compulsory papers for all categories of students.

Students are advised to be extremely careful regarding the selection of subjects.  Only one chance in the combination of subjects is permissible within a month from the commencement of classes and no such requests are entertained afterward.

Kindly note that these combinations and options are liable to last-minute change and are subject to the Calcutta University Guidelines.

Candidates who have passed the Higher Secondary (10+2 ) or its equivalent examination are eligible to seek admission to the First Semester of the Six Semester B.A./B.Sc./B.Com. (Honours and General) A course of studies provided he/she has also passed in English has full marks not being less than 100.

Eligibility Criteria:

a) A candidate taking up Honours Course in a subject must have obtained:

A minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate and 45% marks in the subject or related subject at the previous qualifying examination.
Or
55% marks in the subject or related subject at the previous qualifying examination.
Or
50% marks in the aggregate when the candidate has not studied the subject in his/her previous qualifying examination provided all the other clauses are satisfied.
Or
However, if in any Honours subject, the number of applications is so low that even the permitted intake of the college cannot be filled up, then the Principal may use his discretionary power to reduce the minimum requirement for admission in that subject. A written note in that respect should reach the Registrar for consideration of that decision for final approval by the University and the decision will be communicated to the Dept. of Higher Education, Govt. of West Bengal for information.

b) However, candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe Community taking up Honours Course of study must have obtained a minimum of 40% marks in the aggregate and 40% marks in the subject or related subjects at the previous qualifying examination, as the case may be.

Lalbaba College Merit List 2021

Lalbaba College is going to publish the Merit List soon. After the closing of the application procedure, Lalbaba College is going to publish the provisional merit list. It’s more of a cut-off score based on the marks you have got in the Higher Secondary Examination (HS). Candidates are hereby notified that they can get the merit list and counseling-related details from here. Lalbaba College is going to publish the Subject wise Lalbaba College Merit list 2021. As we all know they will publish the 1st Merit List. Students, who will not found their name in the First Provisional must wait for the 2nd, 3rd Merit List soon (tentative).
