Kolkata Customs has advertised an employment notification for the recruitment of 26 Multi Tasking Staff, Tax Assistant & Havaldar on the basis of direct recruitment. This recruitment is only for meritorious sports person candidates who will be appointed in the office of Chief Commissioner of Customs, Kolkata purely on the basis of merits of sports category.
Aspirants are requested to submit their application from online by visiting the Official Kolkata Customs Website on or before the 19/07/2025. Every information regarding the application process of the post is going to be described in the later part of my article here.

Kolkata Customs Selection Process 2025
First, the applications will be checked. Candidates will be selected based on their sports performance in the last 3 years (2022, 2023, and 2024), their age and what they have achieved in sports.
Those who are shortlisted will have to show their original documents at the time of recruitment on Ground. Only those documents that were already uploaded with the application will be accepted. No new documents will be allowed later.
After that, selected candidates will take a sports skill test. If you are applying for the Tax Assistant post, you also have to pass a Data Entry Test.
Final selection will depend on how well you did in sports over the last 3 years, your age, achievements and test performance. If you pass the test doesn’t guarantee you’ll get the job. You are suitable for the job or not will also be checked on the ground.
Make sure to bring original documents and photocopies (signed by a gazetted officer) during document verification.

Kolkata Customs Recruitment 2025 Online Application Process
Visit the Official Website:
- Go to the official Kolkata Customs website “kolkatacustoms.gov.in“.
Gather Your Documents before you apply:
- Before you apply, make sure you have scanned copies (pictures or PDFs) of your documents like certificates, ID proof, etc.
Keep Your Email and Phone Number Active:
- You must have a working email ID and mobile number. Kolkata Customs will send important messages like document verification details to your email or phone number.
Fill the Online Form Carefully:
- Enter your name, date of birth, address, the post you want to apply for etc., correctly. You won’t be able to change this information after the final submission of application form. So, check it properly before submitting.
Pay the Application Fee (If Needed):
- If there’s a fee mentioned in the official notification, you can pay it online (like through UPI or card) or offline, depending on the option referred in the notification.
Submit the Form:
- Once, You have filled the online application form, click on “Submit.”
Save Your Application Number:
- After submitting, you’ll get an application number. Save it or print it out so that you can use it in future.
